We love X Factor’s Janet, but the quiet Northern Irish singer doesn’t really give that much away about herself. Heat wanted to find out more about the 16-year-old wannabe pop star, so who better to ask than her priest! Yes, they tracked down Gortin parish priest John Forbes for an exclusive chat.
John told heat magazine (out now) that Janet will never change who she is for fame, “The show can be a bit risqué but Janet is the one who comes over with the right values. She’s only 16 and yet I know she spoke out very strongly against The X Factor about what was being asked of her.
“It’s not just refusing to wear outrageous clothes – she was asked questions about having to change to suit the world of The X Factor and the musical world. But she has stood firm and said, ‘Why should I?’ She isn’t interested in all that cheap celebrity. She might dress up in a costume or something fun, but sexually risqué or that sort of thing, no no no. Not Janet.”
